Paradise Dynasty (Harbourfront)

I am a huge fan of the Paradise group and they are always my go to restaurants when I crave for chinese food. Some of Paradise Dynasty's top-rated dishes include their colourful Xiao Long Baos and La Mians.

Their Xiao Long Bao never fails to impress me. It is everything you would want in a Xiao Long Bao. Its thin, delicate skin holds juicy well-seasoned meat. Most importantly, there's an abundance of soup in each dumpling. It's best to bite a small hole in the skin and slowly drain the soup before putting the dumpling into your mouth to avoid scalding!(4.6/5) In my opinion, the Xiao Long Baos here are my favourite (compared to Ding Tai Fung or Crystal Jade.) Their colorful Xiao Long Bao (not picturedis a nice rift on the original flavour, and I particularly like their truffle and crab roe flavoured ones.

On the other hand, their Sheng Jian Bao were lackluster. The meat inside was juicy but there was no soup inside. Nothing compared to Xiao Yang Sheng Jian Bao from Shanghai. (3/5)

Both the Fried Rice with Preserved Vegetables and Prawns and Yang Zhou Fried Rice were both excellent. Fragrant and with a tinge of wok hei, try mixing in some chilli sauce for an extra kick. (4.5/5) Would definitely have it again the next time.
Zha Jiang Mian, also known as Dry Minced Pork Noodles, had nods of approval around the table. This is one of the nicest Zha Jiang Mian around. I love how they had such generous amount of minced pork, I always end up with an abundance of minced pork even after polishing off the noodles.
We also enjoyed Gong Bao Ji Ding (4/5). It's stir fried chicken that's cooked to tenderness while retaining its juiciness and mixed with cashew nuts and onions in a spicy sauce. Excellent when paired with a bowl of rice.
Deep Fried Pork with Mayonnaise (4.2/5) was so sinfully good. It was crispy on the outside and juicy within. Good to order if you are eating in a group.

With its grand interior and efficient service, Paradise Dynasty is a recommendation that can't go wrong. It serves great Chinese without burning a hole in your pocket.
