Full of Crab - Chik's Crib

Full of Crab

Full of Crab and I was love at first bite. And we did not stop until we were indeed full of crabs. And prawns. And crayfish. With seafood as fresh (and delicious!) as the ones served up to our table at Full of Crab, how can we pause?

The sea-theme of this restaurant, with puns scribbled all over every nook and cranny of the restaurant.

I'm I knew I loved the place when just after we got seated, the waitress piled a heap of cuttlefish crackers onto the table to "tide us over until the food arrives". I was ravenous, and they were delicious.

We ordered Calamari Rings ($8.90), which were some of the best I ever had.

No one would also have guessed that their Cajun Wings ($12) were also one of the best chicken wings that crossed our lips. Move over Popeyes.

I love eating with family because I feel comfortable not having to make conversation. There were 5 of us, and 6 pieces of wings and calamari wings. I snagged two of each and kept quiet when my sister asked if anyone took more than one. I mean, I would have corrected her, but our mom taught not to talk when my mouth is full. And with such delicious food, my mouth was always full. I'm a well-behaved boy. Although the gig was up when I sent my sister pictures of the food, and she counted the number of appetizers. Busted.

The Sweet Potato Fries ($7.50) was also pretty decent.

We ordered 2 combos: the Captain's Choice ($98) and the Pirate's Pick ($84), which were subject to seasonal prices.

The Captain's Choice was a combination of crabs and prawns. We ordered it with Garlic Butter marination, and it was really good. And even better was the Fully Loaded (mild) marination, which we had with the crayfish and prawns of Deckhand's Deal.

Deckhand's Deal: 750g of crayfish and 500g of prawns
Captain's Choice: 1kg of Sri Lankan Crab and 500g of prawns

The prawns came with shells, which I love because I get to suck out all their brain juice. Yummy yummy. A pile of drained prawn heads gradually piled up on my dish and I pretended I'm in an Anne Rice novel. And Miss XS wondered why I don't talk when eating...

The Verdict:

Some of the best and freshest seafood I ever had, and with such friendly service, I'll definitely be back. They do not have any cutlery, which is all the excuse I need to dive straight into the bags of seafood with my hands. If you ordered crabs, ask for the pincer-thingy to crack the shells.

Must-Try:
Calamari Rings
Cajun Wings
Any combo with the Fully Loaded marination.
